mIRC can be downloaded freely and evaluated for up to 30 days. If after evaluating mIRC you find that you like it and wish to continue using it, you must register it. Your single-user registration will license you to continue using your copy of mIRC, will support work on new features and fixes, and will provide you with technical support via email.
^ this is straight from the EULA, and is an example of how you are undermining the spirit of the author's distribution methods.
