Now that you bring that up, the pivledge for clans to gain a temporary clan tag for 20,000 (I think that's the right amount) might also contribute quite a bit to this.

Wasn't necessarily the case back when Fish charged 10k a month for it. That was back in a nicer time when people didnt make clans solely for that purpose.

What does it matter that there are a lot of clans? It has absolutely nothing to do with anyone here as an individual. Just let them do what they want.

But Numbers, adding on from what AzureMage stated, I believe it is the reason why clans that are heading towards official are dying. I owned the clan [Lost], and I made it for much more than a simple tag. We were family. The reason it died and I quit it was because it was becoming inactive, and it is almost impossible to recruit worthy members nowadays with all these new clans with leaders who don't care about the clan.

Gotta agree with numbers here, the people that the "newer" clans are taking obviously aren't the best members. Seeing as the newer clans die earlier, it's either because the members that are supposed to be important in this conversation simply aren't trying or don't care. If you want to be a great leader, it doesn't mean have a million members, it just means be thorough. There's a good chance they wouldn't be in a clan if it weren't for the newer clans. Heck, some of them would probably give up on toribash before reaching 3rd-5th dan.

They can change the clan system, maybe making it 10000TC > 15000TC, Selecting a min belt or join date for the main leader...
Because i agree with you, actually toribash have a lot of clans, if anyone want to make dat '' Ranking system '' they will have to work first in that.

My clan is on the verge of dying because of the same thing..
I mean I may not be the best leader, but my last clan was great.
We never became official but we were practically a family, and I'm still great friends with quite a few of my old members.
Recruiting then was simple, we got great applications and great members with ease..
This time around, doing the same thing, I'm just getting applications like-
"i would like to join resurrect because i want to be part of an awesome clan and be the best."

I'm thinking about creating a forum event as well as making a promo to get my clan out there, but it's hard to create a promo without members and forum events are very expensive..

Not all new clans has leaders who could give 2 shits about the clan.
Shit, the Marines are making it somewhere.

But I do agree, to many people make it just for the tag... And that is sort of stupid imo.
