Sorry to burst all your bubbles, but you can't really compare two different martial arts in terms of grades (such as Kenjutsu can't be compared to Judo, or Thai Boxing to Bojutsu).

martial arts = karate

your right that you cant compare by belt, but thats why i asked how long...

why the hell does it matter what country they are from? and yes tang soo do and teak won do are from the same country.

Karate is a Chinese/Japanese martial art, based on a core style (its changed a lot throughout history). It has nothing to do with Korean martial arts. Like Taekwon Do and Tang Soo Do. (Which I was referring to together, as not coming from the same country as karate.)

ooooh.... ok. but still, karate, martial arts. pretty much the same thing. when somebody refers to karate, they mean martial arts. its like when somebody refers to someone as a nerd... they really mean geek. (that just ticks me off when somebody calls me a nerd...)

EDIT: gave you back your karma, except i dont know why it gave you two...
Re: Does anyone take real karate?
Well then... In any case, I only studied in Jujutsu for 3 years. I wouldn't have even entered a competition though, even if a got as high as into the Dans.

As for the nerd/geek thing, it ticks me off about martial arts >> I really shouldn't have ranted on before XD but, yeah, I was being pretty pedantic.

I made Kung Fu and Circus Arts, but i'm trying to start with Tae Kwon Do, Ninjitsu and Judo.

I've made karate for a month then I stopped, Kung Fu is better.

I took karate a long time ago. I was orange belt when I left. I'm also in Taido now. I'm thinking of going to art wushu in 3 years or so.
