Come up with some reasoning, it isn't that hard.
And if you think something and can't come up with why... well, move to America.

I think it really depends on the mod. In mods such as wushu or sambo its more of a 95% skill because you have enough time to modify your move before they reach you. In BetaBox you don't get DQed which also gives you plenty of time to counter moves and turn the game around (even with one arm) if your familiar with the game enough.

In mods such as Judo, TKD, and Kickbox there is a huge factor of luck because you are right next to each other and its very possible to get 1 or 2 turn DQs on people.

Just a summarized version of my thoughts

For the most part, i agree with Zaarok

When i first played this game around 2/3 of a year ago, i started with judo, and stuck with it through brown belt. Then, inexplicably, it just became boring...
I set off for something new, and also found Kickbox to be my all-time fav. mod.
From what i can tell, this is the real difference between n00b and pro: At first i was satisfied to stay in a mod with luck factors that garunteed at least a few wins, but eventually i began to care less about getting tc and more about having fun while playing the game. the same goes for n00b and pro moves (gmon). A pro is someone who can start with an unproven, adaptable starter, and still do well.

As for luck...
It's completely impossible to have a toribash mod or match that is based solely on skill. I remember when i was a white belt and i tried kickbox for the first time. I went up against a 7th dan who came in for a very complex kick that i had seen dispatch of several players in line before me. I simply raised one of my legs, tapped him away, and he ended up stragling himself.
u mad tho :)
all is probabilities
some moves have more chance of dismember and can make some advantages
and this move have a counter that can beat and be beated
all is probabilities
but after openers is all skills
i really like aikido, i dont really use the shovel/shovel kick openers i perfer to just to wrestle close to the ground. also i kinda just stuck to judo up till black belt when i got tired of it, and im not even playing wushu since i suck so much i dm myself everytime i try to hit someone.
In 100 engage distance, luck.

180, skill.

Toribash is perfectly fair the way it is, luck is a skill and part of the skill in toribash is being able to predict your opponents moves, if you see a guy doing that noob clap the whole time it shouldnt really be an issue, just stop falling for it. I can agree with some people bitching about noobclap just because its not as aesthetically pleasing as ripping a guy in two with a scizzor kick or something, but most of them just bitch because its 'noobish', though it was good enough to beat them.

So to summorise, IMHO luck is a skill, and even then it takes more skill for toribash then luck.
