1.Maybe, Earth is so ordinary and typical that aliens do not bother communicating with us. Or maybe, it is soo unique, that there is no (intelligent) life. Or maybe, we haven't made progress in terms of space, and maybe aliens exist, and they're more advanced than us, and they don't want to disrupt our evolution, so they're just watching us.. just as we watch anthills.

But as you know, the sun still has millions, maybe billions, of years to become a Red Giant and blow up. If billions, the earth will not end in a way where the sun will blow up, but will collide with another galaxy called Andromeda.
They're gonna collide in 4 billion years.. but our GALAXY will collide with Andromeda, not the Sun. It still doesn't change the Earth has 5 billion years to live. (pretty much cancer for the earth xD)

The sun will not exlode. It is going to expand and eat the first two planets, either eat or shoot Earth into space, and the rest of the planets will probably be fine.This is 5 billion years from now. No millions, no maybe billions. Around 5 billion years.
Andromeda is going to "cut" us, fall foward, recollode with us, fall forward, and eventually make a super galaxy
