ANY Creature that has soul and mind, Should live free as long as it doesn't hurt other people.
The problem is, in order to feel, to love, to hate, we need something that we can't provide robots with, which are souls, I don't believe a bunch of metallic gear and electronic pieces and technology will give them this treasure.

as of yet, it'll take time, 30, maybe 50 years? within our life time right? If it can live with others, know what it takes, then yeah

Anyways, I'm sure the sci-fi of the past are true. Neuromancers, Metropolis, etc.

until we can create a functional human brain from scratch we wont be able to give robots emotions, so basically... no, not within our lifetime.
We'll also need to take about 500 years of programming the robotic brain to react differently to each tone of voice & words with more emphasis on them.

You also can't have an artificial human if it can't defend itself.
woah
Guys this discussion isn't about when it will be possible or even if it is. The discussion is about 'what do we do' if we end up creating robots with feelings. Having ALREADY created sentient/emotional AI life, what resposibilities (if any) do we have towards it.

We are this thing's god, so how do we treat it?

No more talk (as Zelda already said) about the technological possibility (/impossibility) of the scenario happening.
Who'd give it any special treatment? They're artificial humans, which is basically saying that they're robots that walk among us since they're just as civil & intelligent.

They have feelings too. We can't make them slaves or servants. They know what our world is & knows it's just as privileged as you.
woah
So in this future scenario you see humans and AI robots living together with the same rights? We should treat them the same as our fellow human beings?
Robots are programmed to do things, they cant do what they haven't been programmed to do.

Now if you had a program where the robot was able to learn things and store it in its memory then I think we might have iRobot irl. ggnore

I don't think Bots should be allowed to have emotion though, will cause a lot of problems.
