I think that God directed the creation of the universe, starting with the big bang. Everything onward can be logically explained, but everything that has happened to lead us up to this current moment of time (how everything was made, why, etc) happened from the direction of some higher power. The chances of it happening the way it did are so small they extend into fractions of fractions of the infinitesimal.

But suppose he does not actually exist? How can I ask him something, if he does not exist? That is why I am asking this community.

In all seriousness, I beliee that the universe existed since it was created. Millions of billions of trillions of years ago, somehow the universe was created by some matter that has an extremely large density. Watch Nova on PBS. They had a special on it. It was so deep, I could not sleep.

Deists miss the most fundamental point of life. Our own ability to be independant or use use our existing ability to better our lives. That's what technology is called. And science is the explanation of how technology works.

Belief is wilful, irrational fantasy.

This topic is based solely on differentials in views about how the universe was made. It doesn't take a war of religions to say that each person has a perspective on what is what. Some people are athiest, some people are christian, some people are jewish. So what? Like Chac said, there shouldn't be any converting.

I feel obliged to stamp my views into everyone, because I hate seeing people waste their natural potential.

I like having self worth, who doesn't? I'm just a caring person, that's who I was raised to be. I don't have any beliefs other than that in myself, and that people should do what comes naturally. Anything that exerts control over you is not good in my opinion. It stops your true potential.

Pride is a sin? If that is the case, everyone is going to hell. Everyone.

With no pride, no have no motivation and no incentive to better yourself. That's a very restrictive way to live.
