Recently I tried to enter university and my "request" with my personal information and documents were already delivered and I'm waiting for results (that will be released in their website 7th feb). I'll let you guys know if I succeeded or not, I'm really really excited about this

how education works where you live?

Here we study from 6 years to 14 years "fundamentals" and, supposedly, 3 years to prepare you to superior education (college). So I'm turning 18 this year and I just finished high school (the 3 years thing) in last year.
Is it similar where you live?

Where i live its 5 years in primary school, 4 years in middle school and 3 years in highschool.

yeah basically the same shit here but different names. I think I could even use the same nomenclature actually

Kelas 1-6 SD (Sekolah Dasar): 1st-6th grade, Primary School
Kelas 1-3 SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama): 7th-9th grade, Middle School
Kelas 1-3 SMA IPA/IPS (Sekolah Menengah Atas): 10th-12th grade, High School Science/Social Studies Department

I’m still just a freshman, 10th grade science department

i'm 8th grade.
