I'm glad this question was asked and answered, because I really need more RAM now. :/
I have left Toribash, but will drop in occasionally on the forums and IRC. Still in Sigma.

Rma's great for image editing, 3D work & video making, but in the TB world processors will always give the biggest boost.

Once you get beyond 512 meg of ram you're looking at a 1 - 2 % speed increase off ram maximum.

Secondary to processor comes your graphics chip/card.

Ram is las in the line of performance upgrades.
