$400 isn't going to get you anywhere. It'll cost nearly $150 alone for a monitor.

I'm on a $300 laptop. It can run TF2 perfectly and L4D2 on mid-high settings. I can set everything to max but it gets really framey.

The one I use is an HP laptop. I can't be bothered to find the specific model, but it's athe the most two years old. Most likely younger. If you are looking for any computer at all, I recommend TigerDirect. They have the best "bang for your buck" deals I could find(except for that one guy on craigslist who you doubt he even has a home, let alone a computer). A family friend of mine got both of his computers from them(work related-not a gamer) and he's very pleased with them.

On another note, I am planning to buy myself a gun or two. the main thing that I want is a Mosin Nagant 91/30. At $125, that's a steal. I will need ammo, but that shouldn't be a huge problem. 440 rds for ~$100? Yes please. If I have a significant amount of money afterwards, I might get something that takes a smaller caliber. Maybe a .22 handgun for personal defence.
