not to mention proof demanding anywhere but at auctions is just DUMB. It is buy/sale ,he may demand any price he wants and it does not matter if he says "I already got xxx offer" or "my min is xxx". It's his saint law to do it as an item owner, as long as it's not talking about PM bid in auction nobody should stick his nose into such an offer expecting "proof".
