I live in africa, everyone is poor there too... But not as poor as here... You should try being more empathetic to others

That really does make you appreciate the luxuries that we have in more developed countries. I doubt that they'd have much of a chance to move up in life either, just no good opportunities.

I wasn't saying I don't feel sorry for them. I'm just saying, I don't want to be stepping around homeless people every two feet when I travel. :P It's not very pleasant for the mind or the body.

Absolutely not. I feel that the theravadan concept of karma is logical in its basis, but that the conclusions drawn from it are illogical and destructive.

Karma, to me, is nothing but the logical assumption that people in the future will suffer for your mistakes now. If you bring resurrection into that, it basically means that YOU will suffer for your mistakes. Since resurrection is BS, I don't buy that.

People always assume I'm going to be mean. What have I done to deserve that reputation?
