Well I need blender for rendering the head, PS is not good for 3d.
I use GIMP first to build the GIF animation, which I could do with bannershop or whatever else, but it's fast in GIMP and I have good control. Bannershop I used to make the flash animation because it had a built in function. But then I need to use GIMP again to clean up the frames and consolidate the frames. After that I need to optimize the GIF, which bannershop has a good tool for, so I do that. But bannershop adds a watermark so I delete that in GIMP. Then I switch to MS GIF animator so I can adjust the individual frame timings, which I don't think GIMP has tools for.
If I made a deform filter in PS and could find a way to do invidividual timings im GIMP I think I could do it like that, but really it doesn't take that long only a few minutes (a standard one only takes less than 30 seconds).
I need blender for the 3d, GIMP for the GIF creating, bannershop for optimization, and MS gif animator for frame timings.
