S'free man, and sometimes they'll offer certain games for free (a lot of times it's just for the weekend so you get hooked on it, but sometimes it's free to own outright). So there's no harm in dl'ing it and logging on every once in a while to see if anything's being offered free. I'll try to get a post up here somewhere if there's a game being offered free.

Edit: As an example, I got HL2Deathmatch for free because my humpty dumpty school laptop has an Nvidia chipset
