I have yet to meet a christian that has responded appropriately (objective) to me telling them I am atheist. On the other hand when I do not tell them I am atheist and we are just talking somehow "You should come to my church" always makes its way into the conversation.
There is a difference in trying to "Save someone" by suggesting they should be christian and telling every person you meet "You should come to my church." The biggest difference I can see is the fact that if they go to that other persons church so does their money. Save some souls make some money sounds like a sensible thing to do, huh?

there are parts of the Bible I think to my self How could I be a Christian and others that have no meaning at all.
Revelation Is the only part of the Bible were I actually fear.
He talkes about Hell through the whole book and it ends up being quite a scare for some minds.
To me it is just remarkable and I think part of the reason why I am a Christian is because of that same fear.
Tom you would be surprised how little some churches spend.
We don't even pay our minister, He calles it his "way to the word"

So what? Would you say the same thing about Hitler? After all, that's all he did too. Ordered deaths of all those who didn't fit his criteria of a good human being.
What would you consider to be scary, then?
It's not like god was unimaginative about how he killed people either; he ordered to break baby skulls on rocks (what the fuck??), rape & kill married women, gave boils and plagues and summoned locust swarms, etc etc. It's as if he was having fun experimenting.

There was a reason that made god plague the Egyptian race. They enslaved god's people and tortured them. They were warned about what would happen if they wouldn't release the Hebrews, they just didn't want to listen.

Hi. You're an atheist? Interesting.
I've yet to come across an atheist not randomly calling me ignorant, stupid, dumb or a hypocrite for being a Christian. And I'm not talking about agnostic people or just people that don't care about anything like that, I'm talking about serious atheists, like Odlov.
Then again... I don't live in the US, where it seems that being a Christian is standard. It's not really as religious around here in Holland, most people are atheists or just can't care any less about things like religion or spirituality. Making people respond completely different to Christians, in a much less positive way.
