halo started the fps for xbox, which brought the next big fps, left 4 dead, which in turn trying to out do left 4 dead, brought borderlands a mix of fps and whatever else it is

Still there is alot of other fps that is more like each other than Halo is to L4D which in its turn has nothing to do with Borderlands except for the fact of being first person.

I actually wrote a lengthly (mostly because of awkward wording, really) post to your pokщmon rant, but it took so long to write I'd logged off and now it's lost forever.

the main points of it still apply:

1. You're like zero punctuation (which you mentioned in the pokщmon issue of CMon weekly), but for EVERYTHING. Start a blog. Or become a god, your choice.

2. The accent (the freaky little point think, if I recall your wording correctly) seems to work like in French. It makes a sound that is as a default silent, audible in pronunciation. so "Pokemon" in English would be pronounced like "poke" and "mon", like sticking your finger in someone and laughing while uttering "man" after so many joints you grow rastas and shit coco bread & patties. In reality, it's supposed to be pronounced "pokey-mon", like a brittish person saying the same thing. So the accent makes the e audible, basically.

You should write for cracked and actually get payed for this business.

You need to stick your head out more often before you make that claim. Halo came out what... around 7 years before Left 4 Dead? And then Borderlands comes out about 1 year after Left 4 Dead.

There's a big 7 year gap which you seem to be neglecting here. Are you saying that a supposedly legendary, innovative, mindblowing game such as Halo takes 7 fucking years to inspire a new smash hit game to be released? In a completely different genre with completely different gameplay mechanics to boot. Halo is a simple shoot em up fps with emphasis on a one man army. Left 4 Dead is a survival horror fps with emphasis on teamwork to survive against overwhelming odds. They are in no way similar, and in no way has Halo influenced it in any way.

However, your logic seems to be if it's on the same console and it's an fps, it's influenced by Halo. Which is flawed. That's like saying since oranges are fruits and grow in the tropics that they're influenced by bananas.

If you said Halo influenced Crysis or Gears of War I might have believed you, but saying it influenced Left 4 Dead is complete bull when you step back to see the big picture.

I'll take that as a compliment. After all, I would love to get employed by a source similar to Cracked so it would only be reasonable to share the style.

L4D was made for pc man... not for xbox

l4d on xbox is just a port.

Also, Cmon, I was not referring to your post as being against good graphics.

Eyecandy is great, as long as its not used to replace gameplay.
