this is basically it
it started off as a derogatory slur towards homosexual people but now in cultures where being gay is generally accepted the term gay has just become a blanket term for things that annoy us

2. To describe a person that is usually annoying or hard to deal with.
1)The concert sold out 5 minutes ago, that's gay
2)I don't want to deal with him, he's gay.
But people should be more sensitive about using that word as a general negative term because not everybody is as accepting of actual homosexuals
