Hehe. 13 people here are more merciful than abrahamic god ;D
No temporal transgression deserves eternal agony. Stalin or Hitler not excluded.

I always thought the primary purpose for punishment is as a means of correcting individual's behaviour. I don't see what eternal punishment does besides quenching victims bloodlust.

Well I personally don't care too much about people so yeah, they can burn forever, only the really bad ones though. If somebody like killed my family or something I would want them to just get kicked in the face really hard everyday.

hey come on, no one got anything else to say about this? its interesting.
could you really live with it if you consigned a living person to an eternity of agony?
i dont think theres anypoint to to the punishment if the victim of it has no chance of redemption. id much rather go for a more corporeal punishment. hmmm... now how to put this, everyone deserves a second chance, the after life is a place for forgiveness surely?
If you had eternity to think about, you may well start feeling guilty. But of course, if you were in heaven you might have been prevented from feeling guilt or suffering by some magical soul-lobotomy.
I said no. No one truly deserves the type of hell that most of us imagine. Buring for eternity, that is just unbearable to even think about. Even if he did kill the ones most dear to me, i will see them in heaven eventually. And the one who killed them will get their chance to repent for the evil deeds that they have committed.
Aka jusmi.

true, but i dont think god is that nice really or cares too much, remember that little thing we are discussing called hell? the mere existance of such a place kills any arguement that god is merciful.

urrrr... thats a bit more theological than i care for, i dont ususally get drawn into these discussions because ive had so many of them, but fine hit me.
