Mac is superior.

why?

Macs are reliable, modern, fast and simple computers. They simply 'work'. Everytime i use a windows system these days i rage at how badly it works, no matter how high spec it is. If you want to waste your life playing loads of games then get your PC and be done with it. The only other reason to buy a pc would be being too poor to go mac tbh.
Mac games are pretty tough to find. not really hard to find, but tough. most of them available for mac are pretty bad.
I would go windows, but try and find really high RAM.

the selection is still limited. For the most part, I do agree, most people here don't know shit, however some people like DarkJak and Genki can be very helpful, and I try to be helpful also

Just for letting you know, there is a huge difference between "freeware" and "Open Source; GPL licensed software"... The only similarity is that both philosophies are "free" of cost to the user. But most of Linux distributions are not freeware, they're Open Source GPL licensed software that you can get access to the source and modify it freely to suit your intentions and even distribute your own version as long as you keep it under the same licensing, whereas in freeware you usually get a closed source software that you are prohibited to modify in any way other than the ones provided by the owner (and reversed engineering of any kind is totally prohibited) and it will likely use copyright licenses.

If you happen to find a good professor on IT classes, he'll be very picky on such terms, so watch out.

Talk to steve about that.
Anyway, tell your dad that if you don't have a windows at school next year you'll have compatibility issues, meaning you'll probably fail a class or 2. Not good.

Mark my words: Microsoft's Monopoly is destined to go down soon.
Open source software shall rise in its place more and more.
Windows media player, Internet Explorer, Windows Mobile, Microsoft Office and even Windows itself are already being replaced by free alternatives in many countries. Both at home, governments, schools, businesses, and so on. Not just because they're free... Its because they work and sometimes even faster, safer and better.

And when you talk about servers and super computers, Windows doesn't even have the chance.

Just wait and watch the empire crumble for our own good.
