Cite facts. The amount to keep someone in prison ranges from $20k to $80k depending on the level of security. A quick google search and the average of the results of the first few pages supports this. Commit murder in Australia and you're looking at a minimum 12 years in jail. $240k - $960k. In murder cases, the brunt of the cost is in the hands of the defense, not Regina, and would never cost more than a million dollars.
I am a bit put off by the fact that you seem to have skimmed my post, and not even read the last post in the thread. But sure.
In Texas, a death penalty case costs an average of $2.3 million, about three times the cost of imprisoning someone in a single cell at the highest security level for 40 years.

I believe there should be the death penalty, because it cost to much to house a criminal for life. If you kill a cop you are treated like a king,but having a murder sit in jail for the rest of his life does not sit well with me. When they could of already been put to death many years before. There are some reason for not putting people to death. 1 you would be falsely accused. there are some people who are put to death that are falsely accused but most did the crime. So by the end of this i think there should be a death penalty.
