Ehh, when there's that many different religions, all believing in different things. I just went ahead and started believing in what made sense the most. Science.
Personally i think we created God to give us hope in dark times and explain what could not be explained back then and still now science can explain a lot of things but to the things it can't God or whatever being you believe in is there.

God thread olol.

(Un)common sense dictates that it would be insane to believe there exists an omniscient being that created life, the universe and everything. I understand in the past where the only way to explain natural phenomena was to associate them to, I guess, the supernatural. Like the whole chariots of somegod pulling the sun across the sky. But now our technology has become advanced enough to observe the natural world and discover the actual causes to the phenomena, like the sun going through the sky occuring due to Earth's rotation and orbit. I think now it's just silly to believe in any form of god concept, especially when after thousands of years there is still no evidence suggesting an omniscient being had any effect anywhere in the known universe. It's stupid to believe something if evidence is absent.
I R IRONMAN
I think god is something that we created so, that we wouldn't imagine the afterlife as just emptiness and that our loved ones are in a better place.
Because when they are gone all we have is reassurance that they are in a better place.
If it Isn't obvious already , IF there is a god then he is one cruel son of a bitch.
But then again god could very well be just a feeling, not an entity so, there very well may be a god just not the god that religion sees.
I believe that we created God as something to rely on.
For example: Older and more ancient cultures would see an amazing spectacle (sun, oceans, etc) and believe that some deity placed it there. We could have done the same thing with humanities existence in the sense that God placed us here in the universe, which he also created from nothing.
It's hard not to rely on a guy who promises heavens and eternal life in the afterlife.
We don't hire night janitors.
The main point of believing that we made up a god is because of 2 main reason that I'm quite sure someone has already posted in threads made very similar to this one.

One being that on the fact you could use widespread beliefs of -the god- to manipulate others in false hopes of salvation.

The other reason is the the possible idea of something being able to be sent back in time. Although very unlikely and most of the object would be torn apart or suddenly engulf the world into paradoxical madness, its still a possibility for it to be done.

But on the theory it did happen, the person of the idea of god could be silenced letting the word of it never come out.

Besides. If it was really that simple for a true religion, there wouldn't be that many loop holes in its purpose unlike any of the ones we have already created.

And since I'm on the subject. If you didn't sin. Looks like jesus died for nothing.

I think we will all know soon enough. With these great advancements in science give it a while and any unanswered question could be solved through science. Who knows?
