The chicken cannot have come first, because evolution doesn't take place while the animal is alive. A non-chicken cannot become a chicken, but its offspring can, while developing in the egg.

Problem is, at what point in the evolutionary process do you look at a generation of newly hatched eggs and call them chicken eggs?
Evolution would tell me that the egg came first (i.e. it was some other creature's [dinosaur's] egg that had some mutation to adapt to its environment).

Whereas the Bible would tell me that the Chicken came first, as God made all creatures in one day, and as such they came before their respective eggs.

Take your pick.
the chicken was first lol. another animal has evolved to a chicken, then that chicken lay an egg.

Let me explain my post a bit.
We do agree that there were dinosaurs wich layed eggs, don't we?
So there were eggs already but no chickens. So I say, that a so called dinosaur layed an egg with a so called chicken in it.

You can say that there was a dinosaur in it, but why would that dinosaur become a chicken suddenly after 5 years of growing like a dinosaur if it wasn't meant to be a chicken his whole life already? We would call that creature something that's half a chicken half a dinosaur at most.

If there comes a chicken out of an egg, it was a chicken egg, wasn't it?

Basically. Non-chicken animals laid eggs before chicken laid eggs. Question doesn't specify if it was a chicken egg that came first or not.

i hate your logic, but that isn't right, who said that the chicken came out of an egg?
