Forgetting about the fun and not liking clans is not related. People grew up in the community and learned that becoming official is something you have to earn. We in RAWR looked always forward to become official and thought of it as an honor. We always played for fun though. Now everyone can get official and being official is no honor anymore. That's the problem with the new clans.
And to be honest I think the game would be boring if there would be no fun in playing. I'd quit. Why should I force myself to play?
This perfectly states my opinion, a clan is not just a "lol, lets start a clan" sort of thing, you need a solid foundation, a solid leader, a solid member list, and most of all you have to EARN the right to be an official clan.

I don't really give a shit about how many clans there are. I only care about how many are official. Back in the good ol' days, there were what, 10 official clans or so? There was a coucil. It may have been free to be seen by the council, but they had to figure out whether or not the clan was good enough to become official. I do not believe that these new clans deserve to be official, because they didn't earn it. They simply paid 20k to have a spot in ToriClans, and their own forum. You could round up a bunch of shit fucks, say to them, "oh hai dere. Wud u liek 2 stert a klan?", gather 20k from them, and get official. They didn't earn it at all.
