Well, I find German easy to learn because many words are similar to their English counterparts, since they both come from the Indo-European language group, so most of their words come from Latin.

its more a politeness thing, because we dont know eacht other its a better form.. (i said, im from germany but my german is quite bad xD)
"könnten" and "können" is more like "u can" and "u could can"
