Not saying 'Gg' doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. Like almost everyone stated, it is just a form of respect towards your opponents after a round of play. Some people, as a matter of fact, prefer not to say 'Gg' after a match, even if they win.

So, it's actually just up to you whether you want to mention 'Gg' ingame. I don't think people would judge you because of this.

well for me.. i have times where i just dont say it but i dont see it as being rude.. in the same sense if someone says it to you and you dont say it back.. yes that might be a little rude depending on how much the person cares

I can see in certain circumstances where a "GG" isn't required, such as, when the game ends in a draw and nobody even touched each other, accidentally hitting space and losing in the first frame, and many other cases. Overall though I think saying "GG" just shows some respect to the other player and shows that you were willing to take 0.03 seconds out of your life to acknowledge the game.
I personally hate saying "Gg" unless it was a genuinely good game. Saying gg doesn't define you as a good or bad person, its just showing your opinion of the match.
Being nice can motivate people to get better, or just... Make them feel better in general.

I usually ask if it was a good game if I win, like "gg? ^^" just not to seem care or arrogant.
If I loose I'm always going to say "gg : D", because it shows that I had fun even though I lost, and will give my opponent a good feeling.
I say "gg" after every game like a robot. Because I'm nice, I guess. Well, or because that's how we do in Toribash. Probably a mix of both.

I say gg when the fight was really fun or I just type in a smiley or whatever.
Being polite ingame just makes the whole mood of the server great.
I turned off the light at the end of the tunnel.
saying "gg" is just good manners.
it doesnt have to be "gg", its nice just to acknowledge that the game happened and be nice about it and stuff and things, otherwise its like playing a bot.

good game is common courtesy.

It's kind of like saying thank you for the good match.

It lets people know that you had a good time, and if you didn't at least tell them why. No one wants to play a bot.
