Toribash
Greykido is good mod and desrves to be in matchmaking too. Problem of shoveling in aikido must be solved by developing technics and not by excluding aikido mod from mm.
I think that is possible to develop technics that counter unexpected shovels from 2nd or even 3rd turn. Here in community there is group of people (im not one of them) that able to do or at least try this. If this counters will be find and somehow spread among players thats a proper solution of shovels.
Hi I didn't read this thread because it's basically garbage, I'll explain why in the next sentence.

It is far simpler to include a free selection of mods a player wants to be matched for.

Okay you can continue being wrong bye.
RK-MMA, Lenshu, Greykido, ABD, TK, ErthTK, JudoFrac as well maybe?. (possibly 1 wushu and 1 box_mushu but i'm not so sure about that)

Here we have all the mods that are competitive. Instead of everyone arguing "we should have ErthTK over TK or Greykido over Aikido! Why not have both? The current pool mod system hampa has works great, where there is a selected pool of mods and one is picked before each game.

I see no harm in putting in all the standard mods. If there is a pool of 12 mods thats far better than 3 mods.

About the fancy striking mods... eh no. Maybe one month they could be put in as some sort of experimental idea to get community feedback.

Check the high ranked players at the moment, they're mostly aikido players. And, as I've noticed they shovel. Now I know everyone argues, that this is toribash and learn how to counter and whatever, but do you want to include a mod where one technique favors all all?

So, either use a balanced mod or not at all.

We cannot keep ignoring the weaknesses of a mod in favor of the player actually sucks. A mod where one technique prevails is a bad mod and will never be competitive no matter the way you look at it.

That's what so good about TK and striking mods(rk-mma/lenshu3ng), you literally put in different positions each and every game and have to deal with them consequently. (apart from striking mods allowing openers to be somewhat op, but still manageable)
Your messed up world enthrills me
I think there should be mods that are completely different. For example rkmma and lenshu are kind of similar so we should have only one of them.

My list would be something like this:
1. ABD: This one is very obvious. If something can be considered competitive in toribash than it is.
2. Lenshu3ng: A basic striking mod. It has been part of many competitive event however there may be a bit too much ease with crabstancing. Why not rkmma? Because lenshu is further from the next one.
3. Wushu3box: There may be some doubts on this. But I think wushu is the grand daddy of all striking mods and this variant is definitely competitive.
4. Tk variant with stronger wrists. Tk is also a completely different mod which should be presented in matchmaking but those breaking wrists are random way too many times.
Adding greykido for 5th is also viable if we consider the size of aikido-lover population.

"Why?"
This subject is starting to hurt my brain. Everyone has been complaining that Toribash should be more competitive and propose the same fucking eternal mods everyone has been playing for 5+ years, the same mods that makes Toribash NOT competitive because random, unbalanced, boring, too short etc... The same scrub mods that has been leveling toribash toward the bottom so scrubs and noobs could somehow milk some TC to buy ugly head textures.

If you have some disgusting jam, you can spread it on whatever kind of bread you want, it will still be some fucking disgusting jam. It's the same for the mods, you can try thousands of different combinations and "competitive format", ranking systems and clanwar systems, if people still get to play the same old and wonky shit mods it won't be "more competitive", and here we are all over again.

@Uncas, so rkmma and lenshu are kind of similar so only one, but greykido and ABD are alright ?

Greykido and abd are very different tbf. A lot more difference between them than lenshu/rkmma
Rkmma/lenshu have different gravity, turnframes, dojo, thresholds playstyles etc... the only difference inbetween greykido and abd is the environment/dojo, no ? One has a small ring and black plates, the other one has a large ring which are approximatively the same size, (ho and +3 turns with 50tf in ABD so people can tripod longer). How is that more differences ?

Anyway, don't see the point arguing, it's not like mods/staff would take that statement seriously

Wrong.

The differences between RK and Lenshu are massive, ofcourse you along with most people posting in this thread don't know shit about most mods as you mainly focus in the ones you like e.g. you know TK, Deprav knows Wushu.

And wushu with a box is not wushu.

Your idea of someone "knowing" a mod is that they are an absolute top tier player in that mod. For example how can you say I dont know lenshu when in CL I went approximately 50/50 in lenshu against some top tier clans. Sure Im not the absolute top tier at it, but to say I dont know the mod because im not top10 is pretty dumb. I can easily argue that RKMMA/lenshu are pretty much alike. The gravity and TF are a bit different but the gameplay style is still pretty much the same. Feet first lunging. In greykido/ABD the focus is quite different, most greykido games end in out of the ring dq and in abd inside the ring. That shapes the gameplay to something very different. You are just so god damn cocky that you don't think people other than yourself can give proper input to issues.
