It depends on what you class as best

Metal Gear Solid is unbeatable. Totally revolutionised computer games.

GTA 3 was also revolutionary bringing in the whole sandbox genre.

I would go with MGS for the Playstation 1. It's storyline, characters, graphics, cutscenes were unseen at the time and it was simply fantastic to play.

I just remembered playing Star Wars: Jedi Knight for the PC... great game.

I know we're talking about console games but still...

I love Goldeneye for the N64. It's still my favorite game of any kind, of all time. Anyone who says Perfect Dark also gets a man point. If it wasn't for Goldeneye's damn amazing multiplayer, there wouldn't be a console FPS genre.

Also, in retrospect Halo 2 was better then Halo 3. Sorry, kids.

yeah, i agree with ethereal. they should make an ES with the size of morrowind yet better detail and storyline than oblivion.

it would pwn everything.
