No random powerchords, made carefully and thoughtfully by talented artists.

Metal subgenres like "grindcore" are offensive and pointless, just as a lot of rap is just uninspired lyrics said aggressively over a poor bassline.

on the other hand, there is a selection of good material from each - neither is "better".

Theres good grindcore man, Cephalic Carnage for example makes a very interesting type of sound. But of course its all subjective.

Still. Turbablism is an incredible art and requires as much skill, knowledge and culture as playing an instrument.

My statement was out of line? How? By stating that in today's rap (TODAY'S RAP MIND YOU AGAIN) they don't play instruments? By only talking about sex, drugs, cars, and money behind background music composed of a drum machine and bass machine?

Yeah, my statement was SOOOOOOOO out of line. *sarcasm*

It was out of line. That's a huge stereotype. While plenty mainstream rap acts do what you've just said, there are quite a lot of lesser known rap artists and other artists that incorporate rap into their music who have instruments used in their recordings. However, the point of rap is not musical or technical ability, but rather that the rapper is a conduit for the people he is speaking to or about. Rappers like "Flo Rida" and all those fags don't do that. That's the truth. However, Eminem, Outkast, and multiple other rap artists of today (and many more from the past) still serve as this conduit. Songs like "Stan" (A powerful epic about an obsessed and insane sycophant neglected by his idol pushed to the limit by driving his car off a bridge with his pregnant girlfriend tied in the back) are beautiful works of art. That's the truth. If your point is that the majority of mainstream rap is garbage, then you are right, but don't make such claims as the above mentioned without thinking first.

Any rap artists who use actual instruments played by real people in their songs are excluded from my statement, obviously. I like rap with instruments (as long as the lyrics are mature and non-sexual) and yes, I was reffering to the mainstream rap with no instruments.

Eminem and Outkast rock.

Flo-rida sucks big cock.

Ha.
