first of all, prove your loyality with activity and not leaving the clan. Trust me, he will remember that (so do I btw, with those who stayed here after all). Furthermore: your board needs a Co-Ldr or at least someone as an board moderator. Doing that all alone as the Ldr is nearly impossible, cause you got always things you have to care about, and one thing less is always good in that case ;)
Show him that you are engaged to help the clan. Send him a pm with possible improvements to make your clan more stable and secure, or open a new thread and let others decide what is good and what's bad.
Those all are small things for themselves, but every Ldr will recognize it and I know that you'd be a great Co-Ldr mocro ;)

Unfortunatly, Parrot is also going through some tough times. We don't have any Co-Leaders, and Donseluke has almost no trust to let anyone be a Co-Ldr. We also only have Donseluke as our Clan Board moderator, so when he's gone the board tends to become a little spammish. We've lost a few members due to activity problems, causing others to leave. Our IRC used to be full almost everyday, now it's empty almost everyday. I'm trying to reshape the clan, but I can only do what Donseluke will intrust me with. If he doesn't trust me, I can't help.
