its harder to comeback but not impossible, you can bait the enemy into a gimp giving you a huge advantage if it goes well, and some weapons can easily do comebacks, like sword bow katars. the chase dodge helps alot to counter guns were are a pain in the ass to beat without chase dodge.
when 2 players are good the way one wins over the other is by reading or sometimes doing hard reads you have to understand their dodge pattern and abuse what they cant dodge.
