Sitting on the fence unable to decide...
Ill begin with a quote:
"Here I sit, Broken hearted...
Paid a quarter, but only farted"
This about sums up how I feel about the subject at hand. How you ask?
Toribash, like public toilets, should be free to enjoy. However, for those that do pay to use the toilet (or in this case, Toribash), feel we should use it to its fullest extent.
I'm not comparing toribash to a toilet in any way. Only that if I didn't have a toilet or toribash in a 24 hour period, I begin to feel all funny...
I have read many of the previous posts in this thread, but not all. And I like the idea of payment, but I have a question to this:
I have bought, during the short course of my time with toribash, seven total keys. Do I get 20k-30k toricreds for each of these keys that I payed for? Or since I gave these keys to those that couldn't afford it, do they get the credits?
If I had known toribash would have returned to a "free software", I wouldn't have bought and distributed these keys. Nor was my intent to give these "key winners" 20k-30k credits...
Where do I stand in the "refund"?
Although, saying this, I can see how a free toribash can be beneficial to many players from many places. The amount of buzz generated by such a giveaway would be tremendous, and I can imagine money could still be made for Nabi studios through ad revenue (on toribash.com and within the forums that we all frequently visit), and perhaps even in game ads of some sort.
I have not voted, and I still don't know where I stand on the issue. But a free toribash has its pros and cons for many people. Maybe I am blinded by my own greed...
Whatever the studio decides should not be based on our votes anyway, and we'll continue on no matter how it turns out. I can only imagine everyone on these forums l-o-v-e-s toribash as much as I do and will continue to play long into the future. Long live toribash...
