chac, as often as I agree with you, this time I don't.
this is like the cracked.com way, only better and more polished. For one, they make absurd assumptions, use stuff like sayings and the bible as solid arguments and stuff, these are intellectual, for the most part, and well built. I know, cracked.com itself confesses to having a questionable value as an actual source of facts, hell, I like the thread myself, so don't flame me about "bashing" cracked.com
the "obvious cracked.com style" has a real name, older than probably the country you live in. sarcasm. Even if cracked.com really were the only humor site in america since 1958, they wouldn't have invented sarcasm. Further yet, even if they had, CMon is copying them better than they're doing it themselves.
As for all he said being said before, let's take an absurd cracked.com-esque analog. Newton didn't really come up with anything fundamentally new either. Everybody knew that things seem to "try" to get closer to the earth. So he said that they do, but what he did was explain it too. In his case, by assuming that matter attracts matter and since the earth has a lot of matter, it attracts all the smaller particles close by.
All the above is, of course, if you ask me.
