I can't, but if you look up information about the legalisation of Airsoft in England.

Check the AAC website if you are really interested. I dont really have to time to find it :/

I'm an AAC activist and I've studied the legality of airsoft in many countries. England ruled that so long as the projectile contained less than 1j of energy it was safe and could cause no permanent damage even to the soft tissue of the eye.

I can 100% tell you that face masks are for legal liability reasons, and that loadout is just for milsim effect.

Above the 1j limit you could get hurt, if you don't take the propped saftey precautions.

There's no way a gun over 350fps could make into our playing fields, all non-rental guns are chrono'd before we begin the day.

Explain that.

Yes, because if I dont have a direct link to the information, which anyone could find with just a simple Googling, or anyone who knows the history of Airsoft in England, could find.

You are too lazy to find it yourself, so am I. I guess its both true and not true?

It's simple fact.

At close range, a 350fps bb can take out a tooth or eye or embed into skin.

At long range, most likely not.

The danger is in stupidity and close quarters combat CQC

Exactly this. If engagement guidelines are followed, and if full-face protection is used, airsoft is safe. Basically, if you're a safe/responsible person, the sport will be for you. If you tend to be reckless, well.... I hope you didn't care too much about your vision/front tooth/windows.
There are no engagement rules where I play, but we do have a rule that within a certain distance you have to say 'bang' and theyre dead, so to avoid injuries. But obviously people can meet in close distance and panic spray eachother, which is understandable.

no they're not dangerous
unless you put it in the hands of a idiot
edit: we do the same thing in our game caelquinn

They are still dangerous in the hands of a sensible person.

Hypothetical Scenario:

Im creeping up behind a bush, look out, no one is there. I sprint for cover, and someone else sprints around the corner and we meet. Even the most sensible person will panick and spray the opposing player. Rarely will someone stop and thinking calmly 'wait, this is too close'.

Without a full face mask, you are at risk. It's entirely up to you if you want to take that risk.

With a full face mask on, there isnt much that go wrong short of being struck by a lightning bolt.

One joule of energy will be transferred by a .6mm 0.20g BB travelling at 100 metres per second (330 ft/s)

Do some research, and simple physics and you will see that this is below the pressure required to break human skin, and is below the accepted limit to cause permanent damage to a human eye.

I can assure you that the saftey equipment is over kill.

However I do support the use of this equipment, as it is painful to get hit in the eye, and a rep could be adjusted after being chrono'd or may not have been chrono'd. And its a bit of a risk. Also in the USA, and a lot of countries there is no chrono limit, so always wear saftey protection.

Well I think they need to redo their research. Because it can happen. Fact. I was there.

Do you trust your theory enough to be shot in the eye?
