Also, the 8800GTX is better than the 9800GT because the 9800GT uses the exact same chip as the 8800GT.
my cpu temp is 33c to 37c. yes i understand the 9800GT is the same chipset as the 8800GT but i've seen people using the 9800GT getting higher framerates than me in games because of their cpu being really good.
for the power consumption though i would rather have the 9800GT over the 8800GTX
i don't use the stock cooler for the cpu if you're wondering. still air cooled though not water cooled
