dont actually destroy clans until the people in the clan have a chance to make you change your mind, write a speech or something why their clan should live on.
@ masterjepo: I asked for them to suggest clans to be deleted.

I intend to post on their forum, asking for them to give me a good reason not to be deleted. To prove their clan is still alive.
Actually i think Lancer c made quite a good point, now forgive me as i support it while completely miss it but at least i express how i think things should be and thus for full my contribution to the community. (boy if everyone thought like me the world would be fucked...)

1: none of the following rules apply to admins

2: yes when all the founding members or lets say 80% of the founding members have left, that clan is no longer the same clan, it is a new clan under the same name.

3: any clan that is mostly inactive for 2 weeks... possibly only 1 week should be shut down (Active can be defined as posting in their own forums allot, taking part in the league, being online to fight people allot, or contributing to the community in some way)

4: clans that come close to fulfilling 3, or go through 2 may be entered by popular opinion of the community into re-vote in, however 5 people have to all firmly suggest it and an admin has to confirm they have been either quite inactive, or that none of the founding members are left and it is considered a new clan.

in the case of 4 then clan becomes temporarily none official and their forum is locked, then an admin sets up a poll, and we all vote them back in or out.

well, i suppose no one will think that's a good idea but at-least i got it out onto the table so it can become a topic of debate. sorry for any spelling errors, my spell checker is completely fucked.

[EDIT] fixed my spell checker :3

Hmm it's hard to say that founding member part. There are members who are holding the clan but they don't have to be the founders. I was no founder of RAWR, still I am an important part of it. People who sticked around in a clan are very important, too. Check Imsku at CBK. But you would have to define when people stuck around with a clan long enough to be considered as one of the important ones.
That's not as easy as you thought =)
Oblivion: that wasn't hilarious
Oblivion: it was brilliantly complex though
Oblivion: hands down man
Oblivion: today I genuinely believe more than I ever did before
Oblivion: that you are better than me
Oblivion: gg NutHug

Imsku is no longer in CBK. But I see your point regardless.

this sounds like a great idea but on another note if this does work i got an idea on how to let new clans get officail. they can all build up and after some time they all go into a championship thing like clan league. top clan or top 2 clans can be voted on to become official and none may surive by the end of the vote.

just an idea :P

Okay, here's the deal.

As for running clans, "the admins" don't take care of it, I do. I've been doing everything myself, and something of that scale takes a bit more manpower. If I were to check every clan's board every day, I'd spend at least 3 hours on this alone.

I'm thinking of imopsing a rule with the two weeks thing, Vox was thinking that same thing I was. If a board goes without posting for two weeks, I'll consider the clan dead. If the clan has 3 members or less, the clan is also dead. If those criteria are not met, then the clan is still alive and kicking.

The problem is that we're going to get more clans. We really are. Don't act like there are too many, either... just look at any, ANY other internet community out there. They have waaaaaaay more clans than we do. What I need is a way to keep tabs on everything at the same time... because Toribash doesn't work like other games do, clanwise, it requires more manpower to keep going. Whatever problem you have with new clans popping up, at least it's not requiring you to do more work :P

And despite that, I'm completely in favor of more clans. Grin and bear it, because they're going to come whether you like it or not.

Erm, Do both of those conditions have to be met, or just one? Bouncy rarely uses its board and mostly uses IRC, meaning we might go two weeks without a post.
