Anyway, it's hard for me to imagine that players get aggressive when confronted with the opposite sex. I would have initially believed that most males switch to their 'nice guy' acts in that situation just for the adrenaline of speaking to a female, but hey, I guess you can't generalise in this day and age.
If it bothers you that much, just refrain from mentioning anything about yourself. I don't think misogyny really is a problem in this community. People will just say whatever they find to be the easiest source of annoyance for the opposing player, so the fact that you're female seems to be an easy target. It's mainly because people still consider video games to be male-oriented, which is most likely still the case, but things are changing, so hopefully we'll see less of that.
