I don't mean to offend. I love animals, but saying they are equal to humans! WHO ARE MADE IN GODS IMAGE! is way out of line.
We have free will over animals, we can kill them if we want to. But I still find killing them wrong.
My point is we have the ability to do what we please with animals. Be it keeping them as pets, or killing them.
And also, when you said Tigers, and lions and pitbulls could kill us. Do you think we are any less capible? Are you daring to say that they're brute force is ANY match for our wepons, and brains?
I love animals, they are awesome. But all I'm saying is, something that we have as pets! To entertain us! Can't be equal to us.
EDIT: As I said before. I'm joining becuase I care about animals. But I disagree to the statement that we are infact equal to them.
I don't want this to be an arguement, and I hope it doesn't make any hard feelings, Frost-Dragon.
ok i would like to start off by saying when did religion decide which animals are equal to which animals? Back when we were cavemen, and religion wasent something they worried about, we were scavengers getting bits and pieces of meat from the animals higher up in the food chain then us. so back then we were not equal to those predators they were better then us. now as time progresses nature gives man a valuable asset, no not claws, or fangs, but intelligence and through tools we went up higher through the food chain. making us better then them, but all life has value and no life is more valuable then another, because to the person or animals life that is at stake... i assure you, it is very valuable to them

I'm joining Cinamintz's side.
For me, the answer to this enigma starts way back to the beginning of creation. Adam and Eve. When God created the humans, he implied that by using his own flesh to create Adam that he is much more significant than any other life form that had been created. God created the other animals as a gift to us so that we may survive. This argument goes hand in hand with the act of offerings. Bringing one's best lamb to be slaughtered, would be giving back to God for the gifts that God gave to us.
tl;dr: Animals are not our equals, but because they are gifts to us, we should not bring them suffering.
Again i would really love to take God out of this debate. and just maybe have a real debate? because its not a debate when the answer is "god ;insert saying here; and ect"

That's greed my friend and one of the seven deadly sins.
That hungry wolf made a kill and ate the food for he is hungry, in essence hungry wolf is hungry, seriously now, no that wolf did not share his meat in your scenario but it is because of survival of the fittest, thats not just some dumb saying thats natures law, you show me a sick cripply wolf have a share of that meat, its just not happening. also are you implying every alpha wolf who eats all of his kill is going to doggy hell?

I'll get you next time!
And finally my side on this is we are better then animals for we have the intelligence to use tools and kill these animals and keep them at bay if they should attack us. but if you take away all that we have accomplished with our intelligence were nothing more then advanced apes hiding in a tree waiting for a piece of meat. so i say yes we are better then them but only because we are the only species so far to use intelligence to climb the food chain apposed to fangs, claws, poisen, ect.
Also tell me if i said some stupid things that have flaws in the logic, has i have done this at 4:41am
i can has debate ?
