Toribash 3.9 development
Hi,

For those who want to test the alpha releases and follow development of 3.9 I will post updates here:

Here is the first alpha release. This is ONLY the exe file. Put it into your current toribash directory to test.

New features I am testing in this build:
- Real time ray tracing - enable it in options. works with GeForce 9800 GT
- Shaders menu (open with ctrl-h)
- Reflective non-shader bodyparts/joints

i have a Geforce 9600GT and it seems i can handle the rtrt.
this is rtrt effect right?

Correct.

In theory any card listed on here with model 3 or higher is capable of running it, but speed will be an issue. GeForce 8600's can get 30+ FPS, 8800/9800's should get a nice 60 FPS.

ATI users will as usual encounter driver issues, and Intel users should expect graphical glitches on anything reflective.

My $600 laptop only drops down to 45 FPS from 63 on max settings and full screen.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 is good I guess.
woah, nice work hampa. i like the ray trace function . just one tiny glitch with the ray trace, you cant see the other character's head lol. but its only minor, especially for an alpha version

And there is an issue with the trails on some shaders, blackholesun.inc being one of them

this version sucks w/o shaders
the reflection in body parts make the textures more light.
i wanna check the final version, maybe it will be better than this.
