If you really just want basic designs, then you would use a Nokia.

i have a samsung galaxy s and an iphone 3gs

android copied the OS and made some changes you can easily tell from the layout

the iphone 3gs made me hate apple since it died and cause such a issue but i love my android phone way more just cause its easier

According to Apple.

And what does it matter if it was the first mainstream smartphone? Was World of Warcraft the first MMORPG according to you?

God I hope not...

Touch screen devices have a very mature language that has been defined over years of iteration. If you look at a Palm Pilot from 10 years ago, the UI is practically identically to iOS...
Sending this from my HTC. Its got a bad battery life. But it should get better if I keep discharging it. I think both Android and Apple should spend more money in making longer lasting batteries
Just keep Calibrating the Battery Oftenly, And minimize using Mobile data, wifi, gps etc to extend the battery life....or download an Battery extender app to help you managing the battery life...
