There is more than enough spaced for a car to drive through the gap between the footpath and tram, the driver either didn't care much for the road rules, or simply forgot about that one rule.

I hope I don't run into a bad driver like that when I'm on the road, the last thing I need is an accident to raise my insurance costs through the roof.
