[GM-OVER] Animal Spirit
Animal Spirit
Since the beginning of time, shamans have held deep bonds with animals and their spirits. Nearly every animal represented a certain trait of humans. Among the ancient Indians, people would even be named after the animals which captured their characteristics. Nowadays things are a bit different, but the representation of traits and characteristics through animals has been maintained.
Now it's your time to show us how much you know about the Toribash Staff and their personalities or appearance!

In this event it's your job to analyze and to maybe even study a staff member of your choice. You'll have to bring their characteristics into the animal realm and draw a picture of the animal which would best represent the staff member you picked.
If you'd like to know more about any staff member, researching them via the forums is recommended. You could also take a look at the staff members Tori ingame! Maybe some of them have a special appearance from which you can derive their characteristics.

The entries will be judged on the following main categories:
1. How creative is the idea?
2. Is the idea comprehensible and understandable?
3. Result of the picture (art/design skill)
The rules for this event are the following :
1. It must be an original picture drawn by you. No plagiarism.
2. Choose only ONE staff member.
3. You can create the picture in your medium of choice: digital, physical, whatever. We just have to be able to see it somehow, so even take photos of drawings if you need to!
4. It must be comprehensible! It is recommended that you attach a note to your post explaining why you picked this specific animal and characteristics for the specific staff member. It is also quite easy to take some of the staff members' Toris' appearances into account when drawing the animal (for example, Ishi's animal could be black and red).
5. The animal must be a real one. No mythical or imaginary animals.
6. Don't use animals with which the staff member already has a correlation. That means, no shark for Siku, no fish for Fish, etc.

If there's someone I'd really like to bring this into, it would be none other than Qubic. It's a fact that many don't recognise Qubic and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to bring him into the spotlight. This might sound slightly bizarre but I can truly imagine Qubic taking the form of a frog, resting on a lily pad and keeping the pond (our forums) safe and peaceful from insects and other pests (trolls, thieves, scammers). Just like how frogs are neglected by us humans as mere amphibians, it seems to me that most of us are often doing the same to him too. When I first met Qubic, he seemed enigmatic and only spoke when he had to, like a frog in the morning - silent. Things change when you converse with someone a little more often and I had a completely different opinion about him, he's friendly, easy to approach and talkative too, like a constantly croaking frog at night. Ribbit, ribbit. He's the man who often works behind the scenes yet we just can't see it due to the fact that he's always on his lily pad, watching and taking care of us. However, most of us are oblivious to this since we're all schools of fishes in the pond - unable to see what's happening beyond the surface of water.
Besides that, he's just as unexpected and quick to surprise as a frog's tongue when it captures its prey. Why do I say this, you ask? First thing's first, he speaks Mandarin and that's not all: he owns a pet lizard, a bearded dragon. If some of you don't understand what's an amphibian, I'll explain it here with a comparison to Qubic. Amphibians are any animals which have the ability to survive on land as well as water, much like how Qubic is active in-game as well as on the forums. I can't speak for all of you but I rarely see staff members who are active in-game as well as on the forums, take a look at hanz0 and you'll know what I mean. (Sorry hanz0)

today for my entry, i'll be doing one of my favorite GM's, and it's.............*drum roll please* Qubic!!!
and the animal I chose Qubic as was a Barn Owl
(note: I made the owl off qubic's set)
The owl is the tranquil face of the bird personalities. Also one of natures amazing creatures. When you think of "Owl", you usually get the impression of an intelligient, calm creature. Owls like to be in a quiet environment and venture if essential.
An Owl won't hesitate to use his sharp beak to settle an argument. Never the agressor.
and this is where i'd like to bring up a saying "Calm mind, calm action, calm speech, and sublime wisdom will set you free"
Owls are also known as a symbol of wisdom, as the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena had an owl as a pet.
Physical-wise, owls are swift and deadly. the leading edges of their primary feathers have a stiff fringes that reduces noise while the trailing edge of their primaries have soft fringes that helps to reduce turbulence. Downy feathers cover the surfaces of the wing to further reduce sound.
And yeah, Qubic is one of the coolest GM's out there which is why I wanted to do him.
I mean, let's be honest? when was the last time we ever saw Qubic mad? exactly rofl and I think he's one of the most respectable GM's out there, he does his job, usually quiet, ALWAYS calm, just like an owl. We see Qubic in IRC, and in-game, he always prioritizes his job over anything, which shows how awesome he is at his job, keep doing your thing man.
