As for your point about judo, the judo tourneys were only a way to give away free money, the same reason why the jousting and twinswords tourneys were removed. If the changes mean you wish to leave toribash then so be it but never assume that people will back you, that's not always, if not never, the case.

Look Mate, It is 10:20 here, this time, the tourneys were meant to be full...
Besides, A tourney, is the most normal way to get toricredits, if there's no tourney in the mod you want, why would you play it? After all, it's the fun that counts, not the toricredits...
Besides, I don't care if people will back me up, i'm not asking for support, i'm giving my opinion, and i think, that i'm not the only one that hated it, just by looking at the full thread. Wanna make closed servers for the higher belts? Good, make them, but don't forbid higher belts to play in public tourneys.
The lack of variety, is the worst thing that's happening to all games in every platform, and... I don't want toribash to be a "Dictatorship" where people tell us the mods we shall play in the tourneys, and you just have to bear it, liking or not.
DON'T OPEN, OR YOU'LL BE HAPPY, I WARNED YOU
No one is telling you that you have to join the tourneys. It is an optional thing to do, if you want to, then fine, if not then don't. End the argument here.

It looks like the old tournaments made quite a lot of people keep a misconception of automated tournaments in mind.

Tournaments are not a place to easily bash TC at some random mod where you can DM your opponent by simply touching him (a while ago I even saw something similar to lolnade set at one of those rooms). Instead, tournaments are a place for people to compete against each other in some decent and fair mods. These are pretty much the GMTourneys (those "serious" ones) that don't have a hoster in the room.

Having rooms that allow people of different belts play only means that they're usually won by those with more experience which means higher belt in 90% of all cases. It also means that people stick to one mod that they think they're good at and never play anything else. We want people to try out more mods and to give players of different types an ability to have fun. We tried setting new mods in old tournaments some time ago and they were empty even when other rooms had 12-15 players inside - people would rather play judo or mushu they're used to instead of mastering a good mod that uses the latest mod-related features of the game.

You can still play against your friends who have higher or lower belts in either public or private rooms, that's why we have a lot public rooms and you are free to create private ones. There are still GMTournaments that don't have any qi limitations where you can also play with all the belts.
I think it are nice changes, maybe a abd tourney and a rk/wushu tourney or something, not everybody likes abd.
also, can you make it that knockout turns off when there's no tourney going on? With 20+minutes waiting time that can be nice.

i really like the idea, even as a lower QI'd player... and i know that some of the higher players are bummed about 25 minute wait times... but in my opinion... it is kind of a good check and balance to keep the Toribash economy from changing too drastically ... if people farmed 12k every ten minutes that would get hectic..plus that 25 minutes gives you strategy time because you can watch how your fellow lineup plays... help you predict how they will play against you when its your turn.. and the lower belts are complaining "oh they get so much more its not fair" but if you think about it they have to wait twice as long with one chance while the lower belts can make 3k every 10 minutes ....so ,that's about 9k if you win 3 tourneys in a row.....
all around i think it will work out nicely... its pushing me to not only do tourney more with that extra TC incentive , but to push myself and play more games in different mods I'm not usually comfortable with to get better all around... and try to get to an even higher belt / skill level
