I listen to metal because I like it. Now I can't say this for every metal band out there, but some of them are very talented musicians. The music can get very complex and fast and also have very well written lyrics.

If you don't like metal, just don't listen to it.

You don't hear punk on the radio you don't see punk bands on MTV.
And you probably won't hear any metal bands on the radio or on MTV.

To every metalhater: Have you heard bands like Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower, Sun O)))))), Mayhem, Venom or anything besides Nu or Melodic D -metal bands?
If you don't know a shitpickle about metal, Stop hating. Same goes for every other genre.

You posted Iggy Pop, an old punk band and compared it to Sum 41. I was talking about new punk, so stfu. I've listened to way too much new punk from many punk bands, so I do know a shitpickle about what I'm talking about. You need to compare the correct and corresponding bands according to the timeline that was mentioned. I said Sum 41, so obviously, new punk.

I freaking hate The Ramones by the way. They suck so much balls and they are the most obnoxious punk band ever to live. I'll be surprised if you won't be offended by that.

For many bands, a live performance captures the energy that a studio performance cannot. For instance, Cheap Trick was amazing live but only good in the studio.

This isn't about the energy, just the sound quality. I don't care what anyone says, studio quality ALWAYS sounds better live. The studio engineers and producers make sure that it sounds perfect.

Don't lump all metal together.

There are many many subgenres and they vary greatly :P

Heavy, industrial, death, melodic, power, thrash etc.

Probably one of the most broad music genres.

Personally i prefer industrial metal, Rammstein especially. Oh, how i loves them....<3
