I did read the post, carefully. Every word of it. I also read about the bullshit theory earlier this week. I have the right to be judgemental and angry, because stuff like this distracts people from the elephant in the living room- global warming.
Re: 2012
Any apocalypse topic either becomes "AHH! *hide*" or <RandomFlameCommentHere>.

Either way, I consider the soonest apocalypse to be in 5 billion years when Mr. Sun dies outside. Or blows up.

You people are paranoid.

Re: 2012
The new way of life? Well, I'm not saying that global warming will kill us in some grand apocalypse, but it can and will have a serious effect on the world. If these sorts of changes were happening over thousands of years, then perhaps we could "adapt" to the changes, but much of global warming can be attributed to what has happened in the past century, or sooner.

Re: 2012
is there really anything we can do about it now.. or has the ball already started rolling down hill and we just have to try to make the best of it and do what we can to coap with it

Re: 2012
So what if the ball's rolling down the hill? Go get a few people to fetch it.

Now, if it were a boulder, I could see the problem. Boulders weigh more. A pity.

Re: 2012
Global warming has already begun, but that does not mean that there is nothing we can do about it. Simple things like using fuel-efficient hybrid cars, or using mass transit can impact the environment quite a bit. The efforts being made are helping against global warming, but more still needs to be done. It is within the reach of the average person, however.

There is no goddamn sudden pole reversal that will kill us all.
This will happen gradually, over thousands of years. The last few times this happened on Earth, there was no 'killer radiation'.
You're one of those people who believes that the Mayan calender ends in 2012 for a reason, aren't you, not the kind who thought 'gee, maybe they RAN OUT OF FREAKIN HUGE STONE DISC' and decided that they'd make another in a thousand years, not realizing they'd be gone by then.

I agree with this the most, there is no way the poles will invert in one day. these things take years. And as for radiation, if there wasnt too much for the last invert, why would there be now?
