I can only agree with you, the texure prices are going higher and higher which is to he quality's expense. Here are my suggestions to help the texture market:

To Nabi:

-Set qi for textures so less people have them and want to buy. Maybe more or less qi depending on which texture (less for the head, more for the ground).

-Make some textures only buyable with tcs (ground, trails, flame particle)

-Restock more often the texture items and less often the texture packs

To the artists:

-Lower your prices, this way you will not only help with solving the problem, you will get more costumers

-Wait until you reach a certain level before you start a shop, master your program (GIMP, PhotoShop etc), same reason as above.

-(This suggestion I would like to see fulfilled) Create an artist organization that would help set the texture prices of its members and would have a minimum experience level requiered (not to high but only to assure the artis is in fact an artist). The costumers of the members would have a quality/price guarantee and there would be a board with price aproximations (X head : Y tcs, X head with shading : Z tcs) of course only suggestions.

This seems unrealistic to me as Nabi proposes to complete the sets within the higher promo packs. This is their way to get $ so that they can manage their team, and keep on upgrading Toribash for PC and working on Toribash for Wii.
As far as I'm concerned, I got my textures by paying them with money. I'm a working grown-up and I had the opportunity to spend my money in this. Some may find it silly, but at the time I began to put money in the game (last august) promos were not that large (I mean getting 5 or 6 full set of items + stuff + texture set completion). But when I put money in the game I was also considering myself as an active support for Nabi's work. That was my way of telling them keep up the good work.

Artists that will keep an eye on the current post already have a certain amount of skill in those softwares. New comers won't even notice this thread exists.

This organisation already exists. I guess it was/is the purpose of Toribash Texture Mob and TTM junior.

(with a marked up price no doubt)

Maybe we should put some restriction on texture re-sale.

For each re-sale the seller should give 1/5th of the original price to the texture maker it was bought from.If some profit is made off it's re-sale ,split half of it with the texture maker.

A rule similar to this would make people think more before buying a set & if they plan to re-sell it ,they would'nt spend an astronomically high price for it.

Muffindo: As has been stated, it's rather unlikely that Nabi will restrict the sale of texture items, for the reason that Nabi is a company and needs money to continue its work. As far as the organization suggested goes, the TTM exists for this reason and is working on implementing some of the pricing ideas you suggested.

In regards to texture resale, I am loathe to implementing a rule that entirely prevents the resale of textures. Artists are, of course, free to adopt a policy similar to Monobi's that prevents resale, as long as this policy is explicity stated and visible on the shop. I completely agree that resale of textures for profit is a rather ugly business practice, but not much can be done about it because the purchase of a texture transfers the right of ownership to the buyer, unless the artist explicitly states a policy like what I mentioned earlier.

And people wonder why some of us don't do textures so much

I think the most of us do textures for requests. But when watching the request board i see some threads:
- 20k anime head request
- 2k head request
I'd choose the 1st one.

I think this is why the prizes are that high. When an artist saw that he'll think: Why should i make a head for 2k when i can earn 18k more for the same work.

There have to be a company where the Texturists can help the others, tell them valuable prices.

Also i like the donate to hampa idea and @Skulfuk: You could get the tc back. Make some really rare, epic items with no qi and maybe only 20 of that. of course ppl can only buy them with tc. (500k or so), eg an elf color which glows like toxic and pure.
20x500k= 10.000.000
-Set qi for textures so less people have them and want to buy.

May as well make some of the textures oldschooler-only while you're at it.
I see no logical value in this idea other than it being the most blatantly obvious route of action to take.

-Make some textures only buyable with tcs (ground, trails, flame particle)

Nabi need cash.
Tc is infinite; money is not.
If textures were only available via credits, the value of textures would drop, not rise (as I assume you're trying to suggest).

-Restock more often the texture items and less often the texture packs

See above.

you'll feel your eyebrows turning to two gashes, and your shoulder blades will ache for want of wings."
There is no solution.

AVERAGE people like AVERAGE textures, such as tribals and anime shit.
Average people make majority of population, so they decide what is most popular.
Prices are determined naturally, you can't just go in there and tell people how much they can charge or pay for 'art', regardless of it's quality.

It's a bit sad to see shitty sets selling for so high, but.....it's just life.
I really like the resale profit policy.

Sometimes I have decided to make a good head fir a low price cuz I happen to like the guy. Then I check the texture threadsba week later and see it being sold for regular prices. I feel as if I've been cheated of something. If the profit thing is put in place, it wouldn't just help control sets sold, it would also soothe the burn of a resale for profit.
