Kill eyeballs until you have 10 lenses.

Travel until you find purple grass.

Dig down near the giant pits in the purple grass, until you find a demon altar.

Craft the 10 lenses into a Suspicious Looking Eye.

Go back up to the surface.

Have a bunch of healing potions handy, and buy a bunch of shuriken from the merchant (you get the merchant by making a room and then getting 50 silver.)

Use the Suspicious Looking Eye



Make some armor with the ore you just got, so you can survive the next fight.

Kill the creatures over by the corruption, until you have a bunch of rotten chunks.

Go back to the demon altar.

Create worm bait.

Go back to the surface.

Prepare yourself.

Use the worm bait.



Craft a Nightmare Pickaxe.

Break out the bottom of pits in the corruption area (with the purple grass etc)

Make sure you have a hammer with you.

Break shadow pearl.

Hope another doesn't come and own you.

Repeat breaking pearls until you get the event of a meteor landing. You'll prolly pick up a bunch of neat weapons as you do this.

Once one lands, run for a super long way in either direction, until you find the meteorite landing spot.

If you want to make your life a lot easier, go pour some water on lava, found deep down underground. Collect obsidian. Combine into Obsidian Skull. Equip the skull before you start mining meteorite.
