On a semi-related note, my knowledge of history is poor, so I was wondering what's the deal with people hating Nazi's?

From my level of understanding, they were simply German soldiers right?

Not that simple. They were German soldiers ran by Hitler, who were told to (and sometimes wanted to) kill all of the jews to make the "perfect race". What Hitler thought that the perfect race was white, blue eyes (maybe green. correct me if wrong), blonde haired, and just all around facial features. And the Jewish people didn't fit into that category. So he wanted them all dead, and he almost succeed. He killed millions by putting them into concentration camps to work, and starve till their deaths. Hitler didn't give a shit about the Jews, and neither did the Nazi's about killing them.

Thus, the reason people hate Nazi's.
