Well, I suppose it's an appropriate time to seriously apply now. I've lurked here for a few days, and have been convinced that I'd like to stake my root in this community, because honestly, you guys are quite cool, and I can see myself actually staying here. I dislike applications, really, since it's not a matter of how worthy you are... it is a matter of your skill of disassembling. Though, it's really a necessary evil.
Looking, you can see I've been here since 2010. Actually, my earlier account, Tom812*, is even older. So I've been
playing since 2008. There's a set of very specific and in my mind, valid, reasons I have been reluctant to jump into the community up to this point. I'll take from my earlier forum postings here. I hate the concept of TC, and I see most of the forum infrastructure as scammish. Really, paying to have signatures? This put me off of the forums, after Nabi Studios took over, that is. I once was in Element, but with relaxed recruitment methods, my colleagues were idiots, and didn't actually know grammar. Combine this with strict stick-up-ass, self-righteous clan administration, I did away with clans on Toribash and just decided to play.
I've had a change of heart. I see less and less experienced players, and I'm getting lonely fighting white belts. I really don't need all the fanciness today's forums have to enjoy a sense of community. Furthermore, I like tea. I should say here that about two days earlier I tried (-Code). I quickly discovered they were a illiterate hive of scum and idiocy.
Though I do consider rank, belt, TC, and items as pointless vanities that serve as Nabi's revenue platform for Toribash, I also think it's a necessary evil to post my stats, for the sake of making this a legitimate application:
