Secret Santa 2024
Ah, i see Borg, righto then!

Jolly good sir Food, looks rather strange, but i guess thats the intent.
maybe you could smooth it out a little, it seems to be rather jumpy.
When I see you, my heart goes DOKI⑨DOKI

Is that some sort of global noise at the spheres opacity?
Though I don't know if a local one would have been better,
since this is a rly nice result.

here, some new stuff for you ppl:

O.O

Marry me, i love you now. Those are absoloutley epic. Especially the first one. And the glowing hot metal effect on the second was very well done. What program did you use?
I've seen some of your works before somewhere, and i came many, MANY times.

3ds max,
but it's not abbout the tool as you can see in foodeaters works, he uses Blender.
I only purcased Max 'cuz it's professional game studios 1st choice and I wanna gain some experiance.
If I were only interested in the art aspect I would have saved the 160€ for the student edition and took Blender instead.

Go with blender if ya wanna stard 3D Art, the sculpt mode is amazing and you got water physics and lots more.

It's not noise, it's a clouds/ fractal procedural in 3d space, combined with volumetric spheres to create this effect.

Well sorry, in max this kind of procedual map is called "noise".

But since that clouds procedual is aligned to global axes (or the cameras axis) and not to the objects relative coordinates you can hardly see that the spheres are actualy volumetric.

I know. But then it wouldn't loop. Well, not in nine frames.

On the far left and far right you can see that they're volumetric, because they're moving away/towards you and you can see the actual shading.
