I don't think Airsoft guns are dangerous. I've had airsoft guns for a long time and I never have gotten "hurt". I do know that a BB gun is dangerous since it shoots metal. Even at ~ 350 fps it a metal BB can pierce skin, but a airsoft gun will just leave a mark for about a day.

In my city, the rule is basic, but if u find someone less than 1 meters from u, do not shoot, just say "FREEZE!"

When used wrongly, anything could be dangerous. Like if you intentionally try to hurt someone, you sure can. With good friends though, it should be no problem. A lot of my friends have airsoft battles all the time (well not so much now that school is so overwhelming). The worst they ever get are some small welts and bruises, nothing that lasts over a week. Actually one of them was shot point blank due to a dare. THAT one stayed for a while :P

Also, compared to painball, airsoft is pretty darn docile.

But he would get me a 5$ hunting slingshot.

Find a good rock, fire..Can't find the darn rock after it rebounds off something, god knows how far it goes.

but its a waste of good bullets if it doesn't hit
its not reaLLy dangerous but in caution it hurts badly when rapidly

My suggestion is just get the sniper type instead
